TURISTEANDO SOLA, en el país que me vio nacer: Every time I come back is a different experience. It's a different come back. It's a different welcome. Always warm but always different. I can't help to keep this country entrenchibly tied to my identity, to somehow feel that it's home, to feel that I belong. And so it can also be inevitably painful when asked "where are you from" as if I'm not home, as if i don't belong. I've come to understand why, to accept the why. The realization that I've not longer lived most of my life in the country that saw me start my life, but also an equitable amount of years in the country that saw me arrive at what is now the mid point of my current life.

Moments, spaces, experiences like this make me take pause, breathe and just be.
